Wacom's Bamboo Pen and Touch CTH460 targets buyers looking for a budget input device that can act as an everyday trackpad and a graphics tablet. In line with this the CTH460 is attractively priced at US $99 and boasts pen and touch support. The tablet offers a useable area of 125 x 85mm when using your finger and 147 x 92mm when using the pen. These are decent workspaces though we wonder why Wacom couldn't just optimise the tablet so the workspace is the same area for both pen and touch use.The CTH460 proves its worth when it comes to art- and photo-work. We were able to create some impressive designs and colours without any real issues though the CTH460 isn't as accurate as Wacom's own Intuos4. This is simply because whereas the latter boasts 2,048 pressure sensitivity layers, the Bamboo is only sensitive to 512. Using it as an interface for everyday use the CTH460 worked well, it recognised our gestures and movements with accuracy. This Wacom is also designed ambidextrously, so you can configure it to work whether you prefer your left hand or right. The tablet also features four ExpressKeys and these can be setup to summon different functions.
