Trust 10 inch Netbook Carry Bag and Micro Optical Mouse Consumer Review

1.54 min.

Available from Amazon.co.uk via amzn.to It is indeed pink, it holds a netbook, even better when the netbook is pink and guess what it comes with a small pink mouse, great value, great present idea. The bag is nice and durable feeling on the straps and handle is very strong, well built. The mouse is well made and smooth working. the lead could be a little longer but i don't see this as a problem with us as it's for a netbook after all and never is very far from you like a desktop would be.

How Crowdfunding Can Save Your Business From Disaster In 2012

1.29 min.

www.CrowdfundingSecrets.com - Overcome Everything Inc. Crowdfunding what the heck is it and why should you care? To answer the first question, I'l turn my lazy mouse to wikipedia: "Crowdfunding (sometimes called crowd financing or crowd sourced capital) describes the collective cooperation, attention and trust by people who network and pool their money together, usually via the Internet, in order to support efforts initiated by other people or organizations." If the idea behind crowdfunding isn't crystal clear I'll make it simple: You have an idea for a business, a film, a horse farm or whatever weird thing it is you need some dough to pull off, and you get "micro-donations" from people all over the world via the Internet. Crowdfunding as a concept isn't new, but the Internet surely makes it more realistic. Now, as for why you should care: Historically, if you want to start up a business, tackle a major project or undertake the production of a film or album... you'd need a backer. Either you need a loan from someone who's making interest on it, or you find a friend or family member gullible enough to take a risk on you. Either way, you're laying a whole lot on the line when it comes to your project, and you'd better pray for success. Right now, on the other hand, you can go to any number of crowdfunding engines and setup a new project. Techincally speaking, you could even get your first donations in less than a few hours. In the coming years, I predict that crowdfunding ...

Emotion and Motion: Using Movement Design to Shape User Experience (Katherine Isbister)

56.16 min.

Google Tech Talk (more below) March 4, 2011 Presented by Katherine Isbister. ABSTRACT With the rise of movement-based input--multitouch, stereo camera systems like the Kinect, accelerometer and gyroscope-enabled mobile and game controls--there's a much broader palette of choices for how people interact with information and interfaces. In this talk, I'll present research about how movement impacts our emotions and our connection to others, and implications for how we think about designing interaction with our systems. Movement-based input introduces exciting opportunities for increasing engagement, reducing anxiety, and building social connection, and now is the time to establish new input conventions that will shape how we all use technology in the years to come. Speaker Info: Katherine Isbister is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Digital Media at NYU's Polytechnic Institute, where she is the Director of the Game Innovation Lab. Her research focus is social and emotional aspects of Human Computer Interaction (seewww.socialgamelab.bxmc.poly.edu), including the design of movement-based interaction. Her work in this area has received coverage through Scientific American, Wired, and NPR.
