SteelSeries Sensei Gaming Mouse Review
Sometimes, it's quite wonderful to have everything you think you might need available right at your fingertips. That seemingly was SteelSeries' rationale when it released the mighty Sensei gaming mouse last year (read Rob's review here in case you missed it). With its ambidextrous physical design, a top-notch laser sensor, a 32-bit ARM onboard processor, onboard memory for storing mouse user profile settings on the mouse itself, and bling items such as the ability to change the mouse's LED colors, a white-on-black LCD on its underside, and a shiny metallic-like finish, what more could you possibly ask for? That's a lot of extras to go with your rib-eye, certainly. Having so much sizzle with the steak, though, costs. For most people, ~$90.00 for a mouse is a bit rich, no matter how well-equipped. SteelSeries understands this, and smartly has seen fit to release a slightly revamped variant of the venerable Sensei. Meet the Sensei [RAW]. On first blush, the Sensei [RAW] doesn't appear to be all that different compared to the all-singing-and-dancing original. The most obvious visual difference is the finish. The [RAW] is available in either a glossy black surface finish or a dark gray rubberized finish.
SteelSeries Sensei Fnatic Gaming Mouse Review
Not happy with your current gaming mouse? Well, the SteelSeries Sensei Fnatic is a limited edition Gaming Mouse from SteelSeries. It sports its own 32-bit ARM processor and has been branded “The world’s most customizable mouse”, but at £80 is it worth it? Let’s take a closer look… Looking at this mouse while it’s sat on the desk, it doesn’t look like anything special. It has no fancy thumb rests, it doesn’t morph into some crazy contraption that’ll let you win whichever game you’re playing, and it doesn’t require assembly before use. The SteelSeries Sensei Fnatic Gaming Mouse features a black and white with a hint of orange. In terms of the overall design, it looks exactly the same as every other standard mouse on the market. There’s no special thumb rests or shapes here. There are two buttons on each side of the mouse and one on top. The side buttons are easily and comfortably accessible, which is important if hours of game play is involved. The top button is used to double the sensitivity by overclocking the DCPI from 5700 to 11400, thanks to the 32-bit ARM processor inside the Sensei Fnatic.
SteelSeries Sensei Pro-Grade Gaming Mouse Review
A term some companies love to overuse is, "A class of its own", but in the case of SteelSeries' Sensei, it'd be appropriate. This isn't an ordinary gaming mouse - not even close. When was the last time you had to study up on features your mouse offered? For me, the Sensei becomes the first. While "A class of its own" might work here, SteelSeries makes sure that no one ever uses the term "overkill", because while the Sensei does have an enormous collection of features, the company has its reasons behind each one. That's backed up by the fact that it wasn't only SteelSeries who developed this mouse, but also a collection of the world's best gamers. Competitive gaming is an arena SteelSeries entered itself into early, long before it became as popular as breathing. With the Sensei, the company enlisted the help of at least 20 of the world's best gamers, who play such games as Counter-Strike, Defence of the Ancients, Heroes of Newerth, StarCraft II, Warcraft III and League of Legends. This isn't a mouse set out to appeal to one sort of gamer, but all types of gamers, regardless of their preferred genre. I'm a proud PC gamer, but there's one thing I'm not: a good PC gamer.
