Samsung syncmaster xl2370 led lcd monitor review

The Samsung Syncmaster XL2370 is not in any way trying to compete with any budget model released on the market from any manufacturer today. Through a very thin design along with visual picture quality, build quality and overall polish, the XL2370 is made for the consumer who wants a larger high quality monitor, but also wants something that is a little above the mainstream crowd. With touted visual quality, color reproduction and contrast levels to bump itself up into the premium realm of LED backlit LCD monitor viewing, the XL2370 could be the monitor made for desktop HD 1080P video/movie/blu ray viewing and bringing an overall excellent viewing experience to the work or home office workstation. Through inserting this monitor in my day to day grind here at Tweaknews, I will go over what I liked and didn't like about this product and how it fits into your daily life. Does this product live up to its premium price? Read on to page 2 to find out more. Product Survey: 23'' to 28'' LCD Monitors

Like with recent televisions, LED backlighting is beginning to make progress in the world of computer monitors, bringing with it a whole host of advantages. It allows for an extremely thin monitor (just 19 mm thick), and also means the XL2370 gains Energy Star certification, which, according to Samsung, is because of the 33% reduction in energy use this monitor benefits from. Above all, it's the contrast ratio of 5 000 000:1 (yes, five million to one) that's garnered the most attention. One last point on its looks: this is the latest monitor to go for touchscreen controls that are more discreet and elegant than their physical predecessors. Although it has the same design as the P2370, the XL2370 comes off better in terms of inputs and outputs: not only does it include the trio of VGA, DVI and HDMI, it also as an optical audio out and a headphone jack. Unfortunately though, the stand remains fixed, which is a shame, as we would have preferred one like that found on the F2380. There are several different ways of using LEDs for backlighting. On this monitor, and Samsung's B7000 series of TVs, the technology in question is Edge LED.

Samsung XL2370

The 23-inch Samsung SyncMaster XL2370 is thin, sleek, and light. It's as if Samsung's own P2370 had a thinner, prettier sister. In addition, the XL also has an LED backlight that lets it perform better in movies and games. The monitor won't be available in the U.S. until October 12, 2009, but Samsung expects the XL2370 to have an estimated street price of $299. That's about $35 more than what the P2370 is currently going for, but it is about the same price as the 24-inch LED-backlit Dell G2410. However, our pick for best overall 23-inch monitor is still the $319 23-inch Dell SP2309W, with its high 2,048x1,152-pixel resolution, ergonomic options, Webcam, and USB ports. While the XL attempts to compensate with better looks, a thinner design, ease of portability, and great performance, the SP2309W's features win out in the end. As we mentioned before, the 23-inch Samsung SyncMaster XL2370 looks like a thinner, sleeker version of Samsung's P2370. The display measures just larger than half an inch in depth--a considerably thin measurement since most monitors of this size, such as the SP2309W, measure thicker than 2 inches.
