The Samsung ML-5017ND ($950 street) is a monochrome laser printer designed for high-volume printing, with a copious 520-sheet standard paper capacity and a maximum duty cycle of 200,000 pages per month. It has adequate if not stellar speed, and solid output quality. The ML-5017ND is a boxy printer, measuring 14.1 by 16.5 by 17.1 inches (HWD), larger than you'd want to share a desk with, and weighing 56 pounds; you'll want to use two people to move it into place. A notable feature is a color touch screen, with which you can manage jobs, set up functions, control direct USB printing, go into Eco mode, and more, and which eliminates all but two of the physical control buttons. The ML-5017ND comes standard with a 520-sheet standard paper capacity and an automatic duplexer for printing on both sides of a sheet of paper. Optional 520-sheet secondary trays are available, as well as finishers. It has a maximum paper capacity of 2,700 sheets. In comparison, the Editors' Choice Lexmark T650n ($699 direct, 4 stars) has a standard paper capacity of 350 sheets, but with options for 2,000-sheet and 500-sheet trays to bring the total paper capacity to 4,000 sheets, with a range of stackers and finishers offered.
