Traditionally, NAS devices marketed toward consumers and SOHO businesses focus on ease-of-use and file sharing, lacking business-level business capabilities and the type of performance someone operating a small or home business might need. This isn't the case with QNAP's TS-212 Turbo NAS ($269, list), which sports a slick interface and surprisingly good performance, though the Editors' Choice LG Super Multi N2A2 NAS edges it out on performance and remote access setup. The QNAP TS-212 Turbo NAS is still a very good option for network-attached storage, and advanced security options may be the one reason a small, home business may select the QNAP over the LG, especially if they plan to use their NAS to house and share sensitive data. The TS-212 is beautifully designed, as far as NAS devices go. It has a matte, bone-white housing with a brushed metal strip on the front panel. The strip serves as backdrop to small, colorful LEDs, the power button, a USB 2.0 port and a handy one-touch copy button for easy back-up to USB drives. Inside is a Marvell 6281 1.2-GHz processor, 256 MB DDRII RAM, and 16 GB of flash memory.
