The OKI C330dn ($399 list), is built for medium-duty color printing for a small office or workgroup. It provides above-average speed and solid output quality, particularly for text and graphics. Its paper-handling features are typical of laser-class printers in its price range. Though considered a laser-class printer, the C330dn is actually LED-based. It's similar to a laser printer, but uses LEDs instead of lasers as the light source. The first thing that caught my attention about the C330dn, a white box with rounded corners, is that it's relatively heavy (48 pounds) for its size (9.5 by 16.1 by 19.8 inches, HWD). That said, it's reasonably compact, literally keeps a low profile, and can fit in a fairly narrow space. The C330dn provides ample paper capacity for the small offices and workgroups for which it's intended. It offers 350-sheet paper capacity, divided into a 250-sheet tray and a 100-sheet multipurpose feeder as a standard feature. A built-in duplexer lets you print on both sides of a page. An optional 530-sheet second paper tray is also available. The printer's duty cycle is up to 45,000 pages per month, which should be enough for most small offices. The C330DN offers USB and Ethernet connectivity; I tested it on an Ethernet network with a PC running Windows Vista.
