The $149.99 (direct) Logitech TV Cam is a webcam that provides honest-to-goodness video calls on your HDTV. Calls can be made in high-definition (720p at 30 frames per second), and the camera communicate with any Mac or PC that's running the free Logitech Vid HD software. Video quality is similar to the 720p calls in the latest version of Skype, but Logitech's software doesn't offer as many features. Still, if you're looking for HD video calls on your living room, the TV Cam offers a simple, quality experience. Just keep in mind that HD video calls require more than the camera itself; you'll need a fast-enough Internet connection and the Google TV-powered Logitech Revue ($299.99 direct, 4 stars). The Logitech TV Cam looks similar to the Editors' Choice Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910 ($99.99, 4 stars), but is roughly twice the size at 1.5 by 6.2 by 0.8 (HWD). The back of the camera has a folding latch that you can clamp onto the frame of your television; I had no problem attaching it to the top of a few HDTVs in the PCMag lab. The tail of the camera has a 5-foot USB cable, which plugs into the Logitech Revue's USB port. A 6-foot extension cable is also included, if your Revue box is further away.
