Cisco Linksys EA2700 App-Enabled N600 Dual-Band Wireless Router with Gigabit and USB

The Cisco EA2700 ($99.99 list) is the entry model of the new Linksys EA series routers. These routers, in terms of hardware, aren't significantly different from the Linksys E-series routers. Instead, most changes involve software. The EA lineup is optimized for Cisco Connect Cloud—an Internet-based service that gives customers remote access to and control of a home network from a browser or mobile device. Additionally, the EA2700 and other EA routers will have apps available for them for various tasks like being able to control home appliance via a wireless network. These apps, and Cisco Connect Cloud, will be available later this year. In the meantime, testing the EA2700 on its hardware alone shows that Cisco delivers the same great performance and impossible easy setup it did in the E series routers. EA2700 Hardware and SpecsThe EA2700 is the upgrade to the EA2500. It's a dual-band router, capable of delivering 300 Mbps on both bands (and under perfect RF conditions). The router uses 2x2 MIMO antennas on both bands. That E-series' flat,"spaceship" design carries over to the EA2700. Cisco Linksys probably has the slickest-looking routers on the market and the EA2700 is no exception.
