HP OfficeJet 150 review
We've eagerly awaited the Officejet 150 since HP announced it last May because this portable multifunction printer (MFP) uses a Lithium ion battery, so you really can use it to print on the move. The compact Officejet 150 is about the size of a cereal packet, but HP's managed to cram in a printer, scanner, colour touchscreen and a memory card slot for photo printing. When not in use, the paper input tray folds forward and clips firmly over the top, and the paper output flap flips up to protect the front. The Officejet 150 is made from unusually thick plastic, which helps give the impression that it could survive many business trips. It isn't perfect, though, as it weighs 3.1kg and the rear-mounted battery is exposed to knocks. Sadly, the Officejet 150 doesn't support Wi-Fi, but you can connect to it using Bluetooth or a USB cable. You can print from Windows Phone, Android and BlackBerry devices, but the latter two need third-party apps. We're often critical of HP's software interfaces, but the print drivers supplied with the Officejet 150 are near-perfect. The default tab contains shortcuts and simple options to cover most needs, and additional options are easy to find, but we're less keen on the TWAIN scan interface.

We've seen portable printers and mobile scanners before, but according to HP, the Officejet 150 Mobile All-in-One is the world's first portable all-in-one device, enabling you to print, scan and photocopy on the move.It could be of real interest to business travellers who spend a lot of time in hotels, away from the company laser printer or their home office all-in-one inkjet printer.The HP Officejet 150 Mobile can be powered from the mains electricity or by using a supplied rechargeable lithium-ion battery that's good for around 500 prints. It connects to your Mac or PC over USB or Bluetooth, but if you opt for the wireless protocol, you can only print - scanning is only possible on a USB connection. There's no support for Wi-Fi or Ethernet networking, so don't expect features that rely on a network or internet connection such as Google Cloud Print or AirPrint. You can print, scan and copy from the 6cm/2.36-inch colour touchscreen, and scan to your computer, USB flash drive or memory card. The paper feeder - which doubles as the lid when the printer's not in use - can hold up to 50 sheets, but you have to feed your pages one at a time into the scanner.
HP Officejet 150 Mobile
The price ($400, per HP) of a ticket to the HP OfficeJet 150 Mobile All-in-One show is steep, and it gets steeper when you take ink costs into account. If you're willing to ante up, though, you get a unique, cleverly designed, easy-to-use color inkjet multifunction printer that has Bluetooth connectivity for printing from mobile phones and devices. The unit's printing and scanning output are top-notch. The OfficeJet 150 Mobile connects via USB or Bluetooth, and it offers HP ePrint for printing remotely via email. Perhaps there wasn't room, but we wish that it supported Wi-Fi for AirPrint, ad hoc networks, and the like. Setup is easy, and the scanning and Iris OCR software are competent. HP renders the print dialog area nicely, providing options for manual duplexing as well as multipage and booklet layouts. The OfficeJet 150 Mobile is approximately 14 inches wide by 7 inches deep by 3.5 inches tall, so you can fit it into larger luggage, but not into a briefcase or laptop bag. It's not particularly light, either, at 6.8 pounds with battery. The silvery top panel pops open and leans back to create the 50-sheet rear vertical paper feed, and to reveal the control panel and the scanner.
