The HP LaserJet Pro M2727nf MFP ($599.99 direct) is a monochrome laser multifunction printer (MFP) suitable for use in a small or home office. It has its share of strengths, among them a good set of MFP features, ample paper capacity for its role, and the ability to print magnificent text. Its downsides are that it was unusually slow in our testing, the graphics were a bit below par, it couldn't print photos at the highest-quality settings, and it's relatively pricey for what you get. The M2727nf prints, scans, copies, and faxes. It has a 50-sheet automatic document feeder for copying, scanning, or faxing both sides of a sheet of paper. You can fax either from the printer itself or initiate the fax on your computer (PC Fax). The off-white and brown P2035n measures 18 by 19.7 by 16 inches (HWD), larger than you'd want to share a desk with (though still fairly compact for a mono laser MFP), and weighs 37.8 pounds. The front panel holds a 2-line monochrome display. It lacks a port for a USB thumb drive or a memory-card slot. The printer comes standard with a 250-sheet main paper tray and a 50-sheet multipurpose tray for a 300-sheet total capacity.
