The \"h” in the HP LaserJet Enterprise M4555h MFP's ($2,799 direct) name indicates that it has a built-in hard drive, but it could just as soon stand for \"humongous,” When I first encountered the M4555h in our inventory room, I thought of this multifunction printer (MFP) as \"Godzilla”. It took 3 people to set it in place on our test bench. But is it a friendly giant? The M4555h prints, copies, and scans. Fax capability is optional ($299 direct); it comes standard in the other printers in its series, discussed below. (Strangely, a fax icon is prominently placed on the MFP's touch panel, even in the base model that doesn't support faxing. The icon can be removed via the printer's embedded Web server, but there's no good reason why it should be there in the first place.) The M4555h can print PDFs and PostScript files from a USB key, as well as scan to PDF, JPEG, TIFF, MTIFF, XPS, and PDF/A formats. You can protect print jobs with PIN numbers, and create, print, scan and share information securely via encrypted email and PDFs.
