Monitor Reviews: 22''-30'' LCD Displays

If the idea of an affordable 28'' HannsG monitor with a 1920 x 1200 pixel display seems familiar, that might be because this new HH281HPB looks a lot like the older I-ING IH282HPB. The I-INC brand belongs to the HannsStar Display Corporation group, which also owns HannsG. When we asked whether this was a case of the same product being sold under two different brands, HannsG told us that although the basic design and tech specs are the same on both monitors, there's also a crucial difference: they don't use the same display. Without an adjustable stand (you can only tilt the display back a few degrees) or any other accessories, the hardware score falls back on the connectors available. The HH281HPB has two HDMI inputs, a VGA port, a headphone jack and a line in that leads to 2 x 2 Z speakers. In short, that's not enough to score more than two stars in this section. It does, however, have one advantage that doesn't earn it an extra star but could well be interesting for some users. A resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels was very common on 24''-28'' monitors until around three years ago, when it was replaced by 1920 x 1080 displays, which meet the Full HD standard.
