Epson Artisan 800 Scanner Unit Open Sensor Removal - Relocation

The Epson Artisan 800 inkjet printer works great with a CIS system (continuous inking system), but there is one slight modification you might want to make so the ink delivery hose does not get kinked, or pinched. There is a sensor inside the printer, hidden behind the far right two cartridges (magenta, and light magenta) that tells the printer the "scanner unit" is closed. The sensor is magnetized, and can be easily removed and relocated so the scanner unit does not have to be closed so snug (thus pinching the ink delivery hose). The process is very straightforward and while not the only option, it is the best for preserving possible warranty coverage. You do NOT want to lose the sensor, as the "scanner unit" would never show closed, thus the printer becomes unusable - not good. Keep track of the sensor if you try to do this on your own. We offer bundles with this printer and a bulk ink, or CIS (CISS) system for an excellent price. Come by the shop and have a look at one in action. Just say no to the cartridge! Freedom to print!
