Creative T12

The T12 are the sort of speakers that make you tilt your head and go \"is the sound coming from that?”. The reason is their small size and incongruously loud output. They are Bluetooth enabled, meaning they can pair with devices such as tablets or mobile phones and play audio wirelessly. (They still require a power cable though) In terms of looks the speaker set definitely seems like it belongs to the T series from Creative. Piano black all over and housing a single driver in the top half, they're not at all bad to look at. Still design being a bit subjective, some may find them too simplistic. The top of the speaker tapers behind to become a trapezoid form with smooth edges. At the base you have four rubber feet that firmly anchor each speaker to the surface and dampen vibration too. The right speaker has the line-in and power inputs at the back, while on the front you have a volume dial, headphone jack, and Bluetooth button. The biggest feature of this set of speakers is the ability to connect via Bluetooth and play music off a device. Other than that you have a headphone out on the speaker which will be pretty useful if you want to listen to your music in solitude without disturbing others. We tested the performance of the speakers via both the aux input (from Audinst HUD MX1 AMP/DAC) and Bluetooth.

Creative T12 Wireless Bluetooth Speakers

Unless you opt for an iPod dock, listening to music at your desk usually requires speakers with pesky wires connected to your smartphone, iPod, or PC. Creative's T12 desktop speakers eliminate the wires and use Bluetooth connect wirelessly to your PC, phone, or any other Bluetooth-enabled sound source. At $89.99 list, they offer surprisingly good sound quality and simple no-wires connectivity for a very low price. With a glossy black front panel and uncovered drivers, the T12 is an attractive speaker set. It looks nearly identical to the wired Creative Inspire T12 speakers, the only visible difference being the Bluetooth button where the auxiliary input should be, and the indicator light turning blue when it's wirelessly connected to an audio device. Otherwise, they're simply a pair of aesthetically pleasing desktop speakers measuring 7.1 by 2.8 by 4.3 inches and weighing 1.4 pounds each. They don't have the stark, industrial look of the Creative ZiiSound T6 ($399.99, 3.5 stars) speakers or the curvy, transparent look of the Harman Kardon SoundSticks III ($169.95, 4.5 stars), but for just $90 they're quite pretty. Pairing the T12s with my Motorola Droid X was a breeze.
