When one thinks about Cooler Master, the first thing that comes into mind is cases, power supplies, and cooling accessories. Recently, however, Cooler Master has been venturing into the peripheral market for gaming enthusiasts. Many other companies have begun to add peripherals to their product lineup as well. In order to stay competitive with other companies, Cooler Master has developed the Spawn gaming mouse as part of the CM Storm series of Cooler Master's gaming peripherals. This mouse was developed as an affordable solution for gamers who want a competitive edge over their opponents. Retailing at $50, this product is designed as a mid range gaming mouse developed for \"claw-grip” style mouse users. The first thing we noticed with this mouse is that it is a very bright red. This mouse stands out from many of the other gaming mice by having a very distinct color. This mouse definitely has originality in terms of style and design with such a bright color. As this mouse is designed for “claw-grip” style users, the size of the mouse is somewhat small compared to “palm-grip” style mice. Another feature that stands out on this mouse is the rubberized grips on both sides of the mouse that provide a comfortable non-slip hold even in long sessions of gaming.
Now that gaming mice are so prevalent, it has become harder for new offerings to stand out amongst the crowd. Features like extra buttons, precision tracking, and enhanced ergonomic designs are the norm. So in this day and age, how does one attract gamers' attention when so many gaming mice are already flooding the market? Well, CM Storm is taking a shot at it and what they've come up with has definitely caught my eye. The Spawn gaming mouse is the third gaming peripheral up for review at the Tweaknews labs, and if it's anything like the Sentinel Advance and Inferno mice I reviewed last year, we're in for a treat. The Spawn features a unique design that is specially crafted for "claw grip" gamers and has on-board storage for macros and button assignments, on-the-fly DPI switching, and even Omron micro switches that are made in Japan. Sounds promising so far, but I'm going to reserve final judgment until further testing. Let's get right to it and see what the Spawn can bring to PC gamers. Owning the PC trenches for almost two decades, Cooler Master's veterans present their scars from battles past as claims of triumph over the competition.
Over the past year or two Cooler Master has been redefining gaming gear with the CM Storm line of products. One of their latest products is a smaller gaming mouse called the Spawn. The Spawn is wider and shorter than your typical gaming mouse and also has a low profile design. This third mouse on the CM Storm line is sure to fit the gamer who doesn’t like bulky mice. Anti-Drift Control Sensor – The Spawn gaming mouse utilizes a high performance optical engine and ensures extreme stability. Built with an anti-draft architecture, it provides lossless performance under mouse lift and drop, with a built in angle snapping option one can formulate the perfect flick shot and maximize their kill rates with sheer accuracy. Onboard Sentinel-X 32 KB– The Sentinel-X microprocessor safeguards your mouse setting by storing button assignments, advanced macros and other mouse customization - allowing gamers to plug and play on any other system without losing their initial settings.
Have you been looking for a new mouse for your new gaming setup? Maybe you have been using the same mouse for quite some time and you are looking for a change? Maybe the mouse that you have now is not cutting it any more? Whatever your reasoning for a new mouse may be, if you are the type of gamer that likes to hold on to your mouse for dear life when you are getting shot at or you are in a very intense gaming session, you may want to check out the Cooler Master's CM Storm Spawn gaming mouse. Not only is this mouse specifically designed to give you the best support while you are gripping it, it has some pretty nice looking features as well. I know I am pretty interested to see how well this mouse is going to do against the competition, but also to see how it looks, so let's get started. The packaging for the CM Storm Spawn is quite interesting, while also being very informative. The front of the package has a large picture of the mouse itself in the center and the top left hand corner features the CM Storm text and logo. Under the CM Storm logo is the tagline "Arming the Gaming Revolution" — CM Storm is Cooler Master's gaming line of products.
