Arctic Cooling K381 Keyboard review
The first keyboard produced by Arctic Cooling, the K381, manages to impress with its minimalist design and its mimicking of the made-famous-by-Apple chiclet key design. At just over ten pounds it's also going to be hard to criticise on a cost basis. No matter how you look at it the Arctic Cooling K381 keyboard has a lot going for it. If you're looking to add a keyboard to a new low-cost system, replace an existing broken keyboard or you just want a spare one hanging around it seems ideal. With 111 keys - we counted them - and a full numeric keypad all contained in a slimline, lightweight and compact design it has everything you could possibly want in a budget keyboard. If you're not already considering it then let's take a closer look at how well it performs and the build quality. The most striking feature of the Arctic Cooling K381 keyboard is the fact it's so compact, almost like they've simply taken a laptop keyboard and given it a case. Another way of looking at it is that it's a cheap impersonation of the Apple keyboard but at a fraction of the price, with wires and not built quite so well.

Arctic Cooling are renowned in the computing industry for their performance CPU and VGA Coolers. However, it now seems Arctic are widening their product market with peripherals and audio components. One such peripheral offered is the K381 computer keyboard.Boasting an ultra-slim ‘Mac-like’ design, the K381 also offers to be comfortable and multi-functional. Read on to find out whether Arctic Cooling’s claims are correct. The K381 keyboard arrives in a flat cardboard box with the key features and a large photo of the keyboard adorning the front. The key layout is indicated by the country flag on the front, in this case, United Kingdom. The rear of the box allows you to witness just how slim the Arctic K381 is and also see the key layout. Included with the K381 keyboard is simply a multi-language user guide which details the operation of the 12 multi-function keys and 4 special keys. Mimicking Apple’s line of keyboards, the K381 utilizes flat, thin keys. These style keys affect users differently with some being able to type faster due to the reduced ‘pressing’ required but with others typing slower due to the keys not being curved and slightly more spaced out.

The Arctic K381 Multi-Function Ultra-Slim Keyboard is not only small in size, but small in price. This small keyboard makes writing fun again. Read on further to get the details. Special thanks to Arctic Cooling for providing the K381 Ultra-Slim Keyboard to review. The Arctic K381 comes in very small keyboard package. The box itself is made of high quality cardboard to go along with the modern package design. The front of the box covers the main features of the keyboard while the back goes into a little more detail. The keyboard is wrapped up in a plastic bag and is protected by soft pieces of foam on either end, helping it to also stay secure in the box. There’s not much inside the box, just the keyboard and a brief Users’ Manual. The Arctic K381 keyboard is small in size, but has all of the features you could need. The keyboard is only 12mm high in the front and 20mm high in the back, but it makes typing comfortable for its short size.
