Acer HD 23" H233H Monitor Review

Here is my new Acer H233H 23" HD 1080P Ready monitor. This in my opinion has got to be the best monitor in its price point. With its Beautiful piano black finish and its 40000:1 Contrast ratio it makes it one of the sharpest looking monitors in its Categorie. With Acer cutting away from its boring black matte finish on there typical monitors, it also allows them to integrate a new feature called the smart sensor touch. This makes the monitor 95% buttonless, makeing the power button the only true button on the whole monitor. Also has built in 5 Watt speaker for your HDMI in for Xbox 360, or HDDVD player, or any other HDMI device. Asus VH242H vs Acer H233H Asus VH242H ---------- + more options in OSD, sharpness, saturation, + buttons instead of touchscreen (personal preference) + Speakers were a bit better, less muffled sounding Acer H233H ---------- + White and Black levels seem brighter or deeper + HDMI cable included + easy to see buttons in the dark Both monitors are 1080p 1920x1080 resolution with built in speakers and HDMI port, the Asus VH242h has more options to adjust the image with its onscreen display (OSD) and VH242H presets were better at giving a wider more noticeable change on picture quality. The saturation option alone on the Asus was very helpful for Xbox 360 as TN panels tend to look drab or devoid of colour. Its hard to tell in the video but The ACER H233H on the Xbox 360 looked devoid of colors in battlefield bad company at least in comparison to how I'm used to seeing it The Acer H233H was a little better as a desktop monitor because the white and black levels were deeper and vivid whereas the Asus looked flat or washed out. Adjusting saturation on the desktop is not an issue if you own a Nvidia or ATI card which comes with option to up saturation. The Acer has more of a yellowish image tone to it which seems characteristic of Benq and LG monitors (personal preference). The Asus blueish tones seemed to match more closely to how Samsung would display colors, not as good as Samsung because the whites and blacks aren't as deep or vivid but the resemblance is there which I like ...

Yup, I got a new Monitor. It is pretty fucking kickass, im not going to lie. I am using it right now, and the video output is amazing! You have a 40000:1 contrast, 5ms, Full 1080p 1920x1080 screen. We are talking a frigging 16x9 aspect ratio here. This thing is FANTASTIC. Measures diagonally to 23 whoppin' inches. It's bigger than my friends TV! Amazing parts they used for HDMI and all other inputs. This thing is a beast. I love it. Perfect for gaming, photo editing, video editing. Tons of space to move stuff around. Amazon has it pretty cheap, so check it out on there if you would like one! I am sure you would be happy with it.

Budget Gaming Rig

First build, I had to keep it somewhat cheap but im very happy with the way it turned out. The case seems loud because the fans are all set on high and the camera is right next to the case. The hard drive seems loud for the same reason and I was installing COD4. Rut it really is a quiet rig. (Update) Case has been torn down, sand blasted, and painted matte black. Also holes were added in the motherboard tray for cable management. The case looks 100% better with the inside being black rather than the plain old gray. Monitor shown is HDMI Acer H233H, on full 1080p HD. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit installation. Computer specs are real good but to be honest Windows 7 just makes it seem so much faster, because this OS is just so much better than Vista. Enjoy :)
