Motorola CommandOne

The dual-mic CommandOne is Motorola's latest Bluetooth headset, and easily the best one the company has released since the bone-conducting H17txt ($99.99, 3.5 stars). The CommandOne is a Droid-branded product, aimed to complement Motorola Droid smartphones; it even exclaims "DROIIID!" when you turn it on, like the phones do. You can use the CommandOne with any handset, though. It doesn't quite match the Aliph Jawbone Era ($129, 4 stars) in noise suppression, but it's a serious contender otherwise. The CommandOne measures 2.1 by 0.7 by 0.4 inches (HWD) and weighs 0.4 ounces. It's made entirely of plastic, but manages to look stylish (for a Bluetooth headset, that is) rather than flimsy. The CommandOne fits comfortably; I preferred using one of the larger, two-section gel tips that sit in your ear without needing the ear hook. Motorola includes a total of five gel tips, the detachable ear hook, and a solid, hinged carrying case in the package. The rubber multi-function button sits on the back edge of the headset, which is a little weird, but easy to get used to. Along the top are a pair of volume buttons and a mute button, while the bottom edge holds a dedicated power switch.
