The LG Revere is a basic cell phone for Verizon Wireless customers who want to make voice calls. It offers great call quality and reception, and it's free with a two-year contract. The Revere doesn't do much else, but it will be enough for subscribers who are just looking for a simple, voice phone. Design and Call QualityThe LG Revere is made entirely of plastic. It's not a rugged phone, but it feels like it will stand up to some abuse, especially around the thick hinge and matte sides and battery panel. The revere measures 3.8 by 2.0 by 0.7 inches (HWD) and weighs 3.4 ounces. The external monochrome 1-inch passive matrix display sports 96-by-64-pixel resolution. That's fairly typical for a low-end phone. Flip the Revere open and you'll find another standard-issue, 176-by-220-pixel, 2-inch LCD. Below the screen are six function keys, which surround a large, five-way control pad. The numeric keypad features slightly textured, oversize keys that feel great to dial numbers on. Using this phone one-handed is easy. The LG Revere is a dual-band 1xRTT (850/1900 MHz) device with no Wi-Fi. Voice quality was quite good overall, with a loud, crisp tone in the earpiece that was a little bright, but still manageable.
