Some of my mission footage from Afghanistan of Air Force/Air National Guard Combat Rescue/CASEVAC operations in the Helmand Valley region. Responding on the fly via the HH-60G Pave Hawk, CSAR is an advanced and highly capable rescue system for the coalition forces fighting in Afghanistan. I wasn't able to arrange for a RED this time around, but have been able to record some decent HD footage. This was a very sobering deployment and probably my last in an "operational" capacity as I move on with my military career. I will continue to push for a dedicated high quality filming team, and a "prime time" outlet for the public to maintain it's connection with our service-members. This is my new camcorder the sony cx550, hdr-cx550v or cx550v. It is the smaller version of the sony xr550, hdr-xr550v or xr550v. :) This is the 2010 version of the sony xr520 (hdr-xr520v) and the xr500 (hdr-xr500v) I purchased this HD camorder over the Canon and panaosnic Version BEcause: Canon s21: Just for brand preferrence and Design. Both are similar and shoot 1080i. Both qualiy looks excellent! Canon is little more expensive though Panasonic tm700: It shoot 1080p (FULL HD) but most softwares are not compatible with 1080p and cant support it. (ex: Imovie 09, movie maker, etc.) + I didnt like the deisng and theres a fan that makes a little bit of a subtle noise in the background while filming. In low lighting its not the greatest but using a flood light indoors or on a nice day outside its an awesome deal. Not sure which I'll use for unboxings, this or my T1i D-SLR but I think HD is here to stay.
