HD TV Reviews (32" and Above)

This model is the 46'' version of the 55'' TV that we tested in our labs, the Sony Bravia KDL-55EX723. Everything we said in the original article holds true--the only thing that's different is the size! The only exception is that some manufacturers fit different sized televisions with panels from different sources. In that case, our comments are only valid for the panel that we originally tested. Contrast, black levels, colour handling and ghosting are all subject to change from one panel to another. Manufacturers who do fit the same panel in all of the TVs in a range can expect the same results across the whole range. The only factor which could be prone to slight variation is the brightness, producing slightly different contrast. According to our own tests, and assurances from manufacturers, the results of one TV can accurately be applied to others in the range.

Review: Sony KDL-55EX723

By TechRadar, published 14-11-2011

OverviewThe Sony KDL-55EX723 is an advanced attempt at a living room all-rounder, with a super-slim 41mm depth, online goodies galore and a 3D mode, though you will have to add the glasses yourself (Sony now sell them for as little as £60); think of it as a chance to upgrade to 3D in the future, and one reason why this is in Sony's 'Essential' Series of Bravia TVs. That slim depth is down to the ...

Review: Sony KDL-40EX724

By TechRadar, published 05-11-2011

The KDL-40EX724 sits at the top of Sony's mainstream EX range and offers 3D compatibility, cutting-edge internet connectivity and the kitchen sink. It's also available as the 46-inch KDL-46EX724 and the 32-inch KDL-32EX724. The set looks smart enough, with a subtle, two-tone fascia and the requisite amount of gloss. It's fashionably thin at just 42mm and tips the scales at an eminently wall-hangab...

Review: Sony KDL-32CX523

By TechRadar, published 05-10-2011

The 2011 batch of Bravias has been kept back a little, but rather than herald the arrival of a new lineup of big, bold, competitive and cutting-edge flatscreen TVs. The Sony KDL-32CX523 32-inch LCD TV delivers purely as a good value package. And then some. A combination of a basic LCD panel with an integrated Freeview HD tuner ought to suit the mass market just fine and there are some surprising e...

Review: Sony KDL-32EX723

By TechRadar, published 21-04-2011

It's been a long wait – made longer by production delays caused by Japan's earthquake – but at last the first of Sony's eagerly anticipated 2011 Bravia TVs is here, and comes internet, 3D and full HD-ready.The 32-inch KDL-32EX723 is a great starting point for getting a handle on how Sony's 2011 TV range might shape up in the weeks and months to come, since it sits more or less in the middle in...
