Panasonic's E30 range is one of the five new collections of LCD televisions the firm launched for 2011, and we're testing the 32'' version today. Like its relatives, the Panasonic E30 TV has an LCD display that's backlit with LEDs, meaning 80% of its frame is just 4.2 cm thick; the bottom fifth contains the speakers and is a little chunkier at 7.5 cm. The manufacturer has included all of its latest technologies, including support for DLNA networks, a media player and access to Viera Connect for online content. There's also a built-in PVR and movement correction filters. Panasonic enjoys a great reputation for its plasma TVs but is changing tack to include LCD TVs in its catalogue alongside its plasmas. To manage the change, the firm has created its own manufacturing plant, which produces IPS-Alpha displays exclusively for Panasonic. Let's see what we make of the change. As soon as you get them out of the packaging, the new design for Panasonic's televisions is immediately visible with plenty of glossy plastic. The frame around the screen is now thinner, and the stand is closer to the display, making for a much cleaner look.
