Panasonic TX-L32DT30B review

The Panasonic TX-L32DT30B is Panasonic's first LCD TV to carry active 3D playback. This is a significant development from a brand that's only previously only bestowed this honour upon its beloved plasma screens. The TX-L32DT30B is also the smallest active 3D TV we've tested so far and is built around the brand's latest IPS Alpha panel technology. The latter delivers the same ultra-wide viewing angles as other IPS displays, but as will become apparent later, Panasonic has improved almost every other aspect of its panel design to make the TX-L32DT30B capable of doing a better job with 3D footage. Also underlining the TX-L32DT30B's uncompromising stance are its extensive multimedia functions, including DLNA PC compatibility and Panasonic's new, improved online platform, dubbed Viera Connect. If the TX-L32DT30B's 3D capabilities don't interest you, you're looking at stepping down to Panasonic's E30 series, though bear in mind that this step down will also see you losing out on many of the other advantages of the DT30's panel design, including its 400Hz (200Hz plus scanning backlight) motion processing.

Review: Panasonic TX-P42ST30B

By TechRadar, published 05-10-2011

The Infinite Black Pro-toting TX-P42ST30B is 2011's most affordable active 3D plasma screen. It has been shorn of one or two fancy features that Panasonic reckons the mass market won't feel deprived of, but is still crammed with the latest plasma technology, including faster-switching phosphors, reduced power consumption and a new screen filter. The most immediate difference between the TX-P42ST30...

Review: Sony KDL-32EX723

By TechRadar, published 21-04-2011

It's been a long wait – made longer by production delays caused by Japan's earthquake – but at last the first of Sony's eagerly anticipated 2011 Bravia TVs is here, and comes internet, 3D and full HD-ready.The 32-inch KDL-32EX723 is a great starting point for getting a handle on how Sony's 2011 TV range might shape up in the weeks and months to come, since it sits more or less in the middle in...

If you're in the market for a 32-inch TV but can't summon any interest in 3D or can't afford the exceptional TX-L32DT30B, then Panasonic has the TX-L32E30B with which to tempt you. This strips away the 3D stuff and a few other bits and bobs to deliver a much more affordable edge-lit TV without, hopefully, any sacrifice in picture quality. The TX-L32E30B shares the same IPS Alpha LCD panel as the TX-...
