First day testing things out. Sorry if I'm rambling in the background. I was planning to put all test shots in one video and kindda changed my mind. President Obama coming down 9th ave. in NYC. on Oct. 20, 2009 NIght shots do get tricky and full zoom (digital zoom) may seem to pixelate things a bit, but you have to consider that I am on the 29th floor of a skyscraper building and the zoom is focused on bright lights 20 blocks away.

First test of my new high definition Lumix FZ35 with my pet bantam chickens. To appreciate the HD click on the YouTube HD button when using a very high speed connection and fast computer. In my view the Lumix FZ35 is extraordinary not only for its features as a camera but its exceptional smarts that go beyond ordinary design expectations. The chickens are now 5.2 months old. The hens started laying at 4.5 months. Two of the hens are Silver Duckwings. I believe the oddly marked hen is a Silver Seabright whose brown feathers are starting to turn white. The rooster and brown hen resemble a Light Brown Dutch, locally referred to by some as a BB Brown. Oct 27, 2009 addition: These are small bantam chickens about the size of my hand. The video was shot in wide angle with the chickens so close that in one instance you can hear a hen pecking the lens. The clip was shot in HD MOV format and consumed 738257422 bytes. In response to several questions I answer with the caveat that I am new to the field of digital filmmaking. I feel it is best to shoot on a good camera at the highest resolution reasonably possible notwithstanding increased memory and expense burdens. My view is to take the optimistic stance. One day, given enough use of the camera, you or I will shoot something that is exceptional or a clip we shot will find its way into an important work. It's similar to a DSLR in that you can change lenses, but the micro four-thirds system doesn't use a pentaprism or mirror, so it's not a DSLR. I don't see "DILC" taking off as a term, but this camera is hot stuff...it's been selling out everywhere, and Panasonic is struggling to keep up with demand. It uses SD cards and supports SDHC. The GF1 has a 12.1 megapixel Live MOS sensor (17.3 x 13.0mm in size), capturing JPEG or raw images at a maximum resolution of 4000 x 3000 pixels. It's very very light and the superzoom is amazing and the super image stabilizer is what sold me. This video was recorded on my isight (like all my videos have been so far) and I'm hoping that my isight days will be over and this will be the last isight video sample videos will be uploaded after this video :D
