iPod speaker docks are great way to amplify the music you have on your mobile device, but they come with two limitations: You have to physically connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad and you have to plug the speaker into the wall. Logitech eliminates both of these limitations with its Wireless Boombox ($149.99 direct), a speaker system that connects wirelessly to any tablet, smartphone, or MP3 player with Bluetooth, and runs on a battery. It doesn't have as much power as a dock that plugs in, but its low price, sound quality, and portability make it a great second sound system for outside or anywhere you travel. DesignVery small and light for a boombox, measuring 15.6 inches wide, 4.7 inches high, and a slim 2.1 inches deep, the Wireless Boombox weighs just 2.5 pounds. While its curved body doesn't stand up by itself, a pop-out foot on the bottom of the device keeps it stable on flat surfaces. The Boombox is completely black, except for a small orange button on the underside to release the foot and green and blue lights and a gold Logitech logo on the front. The back holds two connections behind a rubber door, one for the power cable and one for a 3.5mm auxiliary input (that lets you connect any audio device with a headphone jack via the included patch cable). Under the grille, the Boombox's four drivers can be easily seen.
