InFocus IN146

The InFocus IN146 ($739 direct) is a short-throw business projector capable of projecting a large image in close quarters. It's not the brightest projector around, but can hold its own despite ambient light. Other projectors have better feature sets and image quality, but they tend to be more expensive. The IN146 is a reasonable compromise between price, portability, data image quality, and features, and should appeal to businesspeople on a tight budget. The IN146 is rated at 2,700 lumens. It has a native WXGA (1,280 by 800) resolution, compatible with widescreen laptops with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The projector measures 3.4 by 11.4 by 9.4 inches and weighs 6.2 pounds. It's portable enough (and comes with a soft carrying case), though it's not as small and lightweight as the InFocus IN1503 ($1,099 direct, 4 stars). It is lighter than two Editors' Choice short-throw WXGA projectors, the NEC Display Solutions NP-M300WS ($1,099 direct, 4 stars) and the Optoma TW610ST ($1,000 street, 4 stars). Those two projectors are slightly brighter than the IN146 (rated 3,000 and 3,100 lumens, respectively), but the InFocus can hold its own in a room with a fair amount of ambient light.
