Review showing this very compact and light 3LED projector, one of the first in the world (available at www.amazon.com ) with built-in USB host functionality to playback DivX mpeg4 files from a USB flash memory or from a FAT32 formatted hard drive. It has great colors and performs great for its size. Having a built-in USB reader means you can play movies on it directly without the need to use a computer or a video player device to playback the video formats. Yet the BenQ Joybee GP1 mini projector does not yet support Mp3 audio nor AC3 audio in DivX/XviD Mpeg4 files, thus audio contents has to be re-encoded mostly thus far to the PCM or the AAC format. BenQ can update the firmware so I will update this description if I hear any confirmation by them that they are adding Mp3 audio support on it. You can buy it on Amazon.com here: www.amazon.com These type of super compact 3LED projectors are getting cheap enough, bright enough, sharp enough, with very nice colors and easy to use enough so I think that it may become a very popular product.

Kein Wunder, GreenIT zählt ja immer noch zu den Top-Themen der Messe. BenQ präsentiert mit dem P1 ein Gerät, das nicht nur winzige Abmessungen hat, sondern durch LED-Technik Energie spart es ist auch flott einsatzbereit. Die Maße des P1 von BenQ sind vergleichbar mit einem Bierdeckel. Lediglich die Höhe ist unterschiedlich. Die Maße liegen bei 13,6 x 5,4 x 12 cm (B x H x T) und das Gewicht ist entsprechend gering. Mit nur 640 Gramm liegt der Beamer nicht schwer in der Tasche. Das geringe Gewicht und die winzigen Ausmaße verdankt der P1 der integrierten LED-Technik. Die herkömmliche Lampe wird durch ein LED-Licht ersetzt. Dadurch steigt die Lebensdauer auf 20.000 Stunden und die Kühlung ist wesentlich einfacher. Die Helligkeit fällt allerdings entsprechend geringer aus. Mit 100 ANSI-Lumen kann der Winzling nicht anderen Beamern größerer Klassen mithalten. BenQ meint, man könne die Lichtstärke auch nicht direkt umrechnen. Warum erörtert Alexander Kahl von Benq im Interview mit Magnus. Der portable Strahler liefert eine Auflösung von 858 x 600 Pixeln und hat ein Kontrastverhältnis von 2000 Praktisch ist der integrierte USB-Anschluss. Review: BenQ GP1 Joybee LED Projector, using portable power, 12v deep-cycle battery

I have a portable cinema set-up that is suitable for camping trips, festivals, parties, etc... Here is the equipment list; • Portable projector on a tripod • External media player (USB) • Self-powered speakers (AA batteries) • Portable cinema screen • 12 volt deep-cycle battery • DC converters - 12v to 18v, 12v to 6v The only snag is that the DC power supply seems to be creating horizontal lines on the projector output. This is my best guess as to the source of the horizontal lines problem you can see in the video as the problem does not occur when I run the projector from mains power. I can live with this snag, it is still an excellent experience to enjoy cinema in a remote location.
