Zotac is one of a select few companies that have fully embraced the ultra-small form factor and home theater PC markets. Although they're also known for producing custom, high-end graphics cards, and an array of motherboards, which include a smorgasbord or mini-ITX options, Zotac's Zbox and Mag lines of mini PCs are quite diverse. A quick jaunt to their website reveals over 30 ultra small form factor designs that leverage technology from Intel, AMD, NVIDIA, and even VIA. What's also interesting about Zotac's mini-PCs are their extensive feature sets. Zotac seemingly crams as many features into a small space as physically possible. If you need proof, look no further than the Zotac Zbox Nano AD10 Plus we'll be showing you all here. The Zbox Nano AD10 Plus is built around AMD's dual-core E-350 APU with integrated, DX11-class Radeon HD 6310 graphics and features built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an IR receiver, and USB 3.0. The tiny system also offers eSATA, a flash card reader, DisplayPort, and HDMI connectivity, along with gigabit LAN. And it does it all in a 5 x 5 inch square, that's less than two inches tall. Zotac has been the recent master of the small-form factor motherboard. We've seen H67 boards rocking the mini-ITX style, with the top-end Intel Z68 and AMD A75 chipsets getting the same sort of treatment. These boards all had something in common (aside from the scale); a surprising amount of serious functionality in a frankly silly size. Now Zotac has turned its shrink ray on full devices and has created a PC with what has to be one of the smallest footprints ever. The Zbox Nano AD10 Plus is absolutely tiny. It's shorter than a Rubik's cube and smaller than a CD case. Ickle. But in there you've got a full PC. Well, so long as your idea of a 'full PC' means something sans optical drive and you have no interest in doing anything beyond multimedia playback and some light web browsing. The Zbox AD10 is a very basic machine, essentially with all the internal organs of a netbook, but without a screen. The archetypal 'nettop' then. But the nettop is largely becoming anachronistic in today's connected world. With more advanced media streamers hitting the market, capable of letting you browse the web and play online content, and TVs evolving with this functionality too, the low-powered mini PC doesn't really have a lot of tricks up its sleeve any more.
We have seen quite a few different Mini PC’s lately. They make great Internet surfing and media machines for home theater setups. Not that long ago we took a look at Zotac’s ZBOX HD-AD02 mini PC, which proved to be a great and very function mini PC, but was a little on the large side. Today we have the ZBOX Nano AD10, which has to be one of the best-looking and smallest mini pc’s we have looked at. I know you are going to say it so we will say it now, it looks like a Mac Mini only smaller! Inside this small design you have an AMD E350 CPU, AMD Radeon HD 6310 graphics, 2GB of DDR3 and a 320GB hard drive. Let’s check out the ZBOX Nano and see if performs as well as it looks! Special thanks to Zotac for providing us with the ZBOX Nano AD10 Mini PC to review. The ZBOX Nano comes in a nice retail box. On the front there is a photo of the unit and some information. On the back there is even more information on the unit and 2 full-sized front and back shots to really show you how small the device is. On the side you have all of the specs and what comes inside the box. To really give you a good idea of how the system comes and what is all inside check out our unboxing and overview video.
