ThinkComputers last reviewed a power supply unit from primarily cooling company Zalman in 2008, the ZM850-HP. Now, we have in our hands a much newer model building upon three years of innovation and standardization: the ZM1000-HP Plus. The ZM1000-HP Plus features a dual heatpipe cooling system, lots of connectors, modular cables, and 80PLUS Silver certification for efficiency. See how the unit measures up in this review. Special thanks to Zalman for providing us with the ZM1000-HP Plus 1000W Power Supply to review. The ZM1000-HP Plus comes in a black box with a plastic handle. The unit is pictured on the outside of the box and teamed with a giant 80PLUS Silver logo. On the rear, there's a multi-lingual bullet point list of the highlights of the unit, such as dual heatpipe cooling, sub-1W standby, quad 12V rails, 140mm fan, and modular cables. The PSU is well-padded in bubblewrap and inner cardboard boxes. The box includes the PSU, manuals, a power cable, the modular cables, and screws. The Zalman ZM1000-HP Plus has a black, rough casing with the Zalman logo prominently displayed on the outward facing side. Zalman pitches the dual heatpipe cooling system on the side. The top shows the output chart, regulatory declarations, and some other information, including the 80PLUS Silver logo.
