Zalman N Series 128GB SSD

We never thought that Zalman, a company so renowned for their silent cooling solutions, would ever come out with SSDs for performance users and enthusiasts. Though SSDs work silently, we would have never thought that Zalman would get into the flash memory storage market to sell SSDs. Zalman launched several drives ranging from 32GB to 128GB, and our sources tell us that Zalman will have 256GB drives in the future. The new Zalman SSDs come in 2 different series, the 'S' series, which are tailored for the entry level SSD users with a JMICRON controller, and the 'N' series, which are designed for enthusiasts and performance users using the new SandForce SF-1222 controller. Today we are taking a look at Zalman's top of the line N series 128GB SSD. The Zalman N series Solid State Drives come with DuraClass technology which is part of the SandForce controller family. The DuraClass technology has several parts to it which include, DuraWrite, ECC and RAISE, Advanced Wear Leveling and Monitoring, Read/Program Disturb Management, and Recycler. These features allow for reliability, performance, and excellent power efficiency that separate SandForce SSD controllers from other controllers like the JMICRON.
