The architecture of computer chassis has changed drastically over the past year, in order to fight some of the common problems that users had in the past. In recent releases, more attention has been directed towards cable management and quick and easy installation through almost universal tool less design. However, the most unique thing about the latest cases is not their features but the amount of customization to both looks and equipment that they have to offer. While focused on production of some of the latest water cooling solutions and heatsinks, Thermaltake continues to create unique designs of computer chassis. In this review we will take a look at Thermaltake Chaser MK-I. This case was released in June of last year. Priced at $154.99 on Newegg, this is a full tower loaded with a lot of features. Let us take a closer look in order to see whether this case is truly worth the buy. The Thermaltake Chaser MK-I comes in a very stylish packaging. The actual cardboard packaging is well-designed and clearly portrays the product as well as a basic preview of some of the features. During the unpacking the case appears to be well-lodged between two styrofoam covers which is sufficient for safe transportation of this sturdy case. Overall, the packaging is rather typical and definitely follows the standard consumer expectations.
It's full-tower review time again! This time around we have the latest and hopefully greatest from Thermaltake, the Chaser MK-1. This case was previewed at Computex in Taiwan earlier this year and has been staring at me from the review pile for far too long. The last Thermaltake case that we checked out was the amazing Level 10 GT that had everything anybody could ever want - looks, cooling and loads of room to work in. But, it also came with a hefty price tag. Judging by the specifications alone, the Chaser MK-1 might be the case to buy for those who need most of what the Level 10 GT offers, without having to donate any bodily fluids or organs to afford one. Constructed from steel with plastic accents, the Chaser MK-1 full-tower case features a black and blue colour scheme inside and out. It stands just shy of 568mm high, is 581.6mm deep and weighs in at a back-straining 27.1 lbs while supporting micro-ATX and ATX motherboards. The front of the Chaser MK-1 features a styled plastic and metal mesh panel divided into two sections.
I have been reviewing Thermaltake cases for quite some time and over that time period I have looked at both good and bad cases. One thing I’ve always liked about Thermaltake cases was that they were geared towards gamers and were really stylish and flashy. Thermaltake sort of went away from that look with the Element series of cases, the newer Armor cases are more on the lower-end and the Level 10 cases are out of most people’s price range. So where is the happy medium for gamers and modders that want a Thermaltake case? I believe they have answered with the Chaser MK-1 Full Tower Case. This case features 3 fans, 2 of which are LED fans, included hard drive dock, USB 3.0 ports and much more. Let’s check it out! Special thanks to Thermaltake for providing us with the Chaser MK-1 Full Tower Case to review. The Chaser comes in Thermaltake’s nice and colorful packaging. On the front there is a photo of the case and it lets us know this is an “eXtra Big ATX Tower” and that it has internal USB 3.0. On the back there are a few diagrams showing some of the features of the case.
