PCMag did not test the Sony Vaio EA Series VPCEA4AFX/P. We did, however, test and review the Sony VAIO VPC-EA46FM/V from the same series. The Sony Vaio EA Series VPCEA4AFX/P ($749 direct) is a 14-inch notebook packing a backlit LED, an integrated Motion Eye webcam and a 2.53GHz Intel Core i3 processor. On top of that, this model features 4GB of DDR3, 1,033MHz RAM and a lithium-ion battery that lasts up to five hours. The VPCEA4AFX/P features the shiny, smooth design that comes with the Vaio brand, though this model comes in five colors: standard white and black, purple, pink and light blue. Opening this model, like the rest of the Vaio line, reveals a full chiclet keyboard sans number pad. The 14-inch LED on the VPCEA4AFX/P sports a 1,366 by 768 resolution. Sony's signature Vaio hardware buttons return in this model with unique functions: Vaio, Assist and Web. The Vaio button launches Sony's Media Gallery Software, an app to create and enjoy media files. Assist will start the company's Vaio Care software, which troubleshoots PC issues.
