SD and SDHC Card Reviews

Here PNY has launched a card designed for image professionals… or at least that’s what they‘re claiming. This is a Class 10 certified card announced with a maximum speed of 20 MB/s. While excellent three years ago, such speeds are now very much outdated. The fastest cards around right now manage something like 95 MB/s, or almost five times the rate you'll get here. It makes you wonder what the term ‘Professional’ actually means. This card does indeed give the speeds announced by the manufacturer. Read speeds are around 23 MB/s and writes are 22 MB/s. This is too slow for pro hardware, but will be fine for general consumer SLRs and compact cameras.
