There are many components inside a PC which seem to be requiring increasing amounts of power as they seem to require huge wattages to function correctly. This is why the PSU market has advanced massively in recent years with PSU’s with wattages up to 1200 watts and beyond not uncommon. Most PC’s however will not require such a huge amount of power which is why there are many high performance, lower wattage PSU’s currently on offer. With this in mind I introduce the: OCZ Fatal1ty 550w PSU. The Fatal1ty PSU arrived in a standard sized cardboard box with some pretty extreme styling. That is to say that it’s full of vivid colours and nicely styled fonts. The “FATAl1TY” logo is also plastered all over the packaging which helps give it that ‘gamer feel’. Besides the styling there is a lot of information about the PSU on pretty much every facet of the box. I quite like this styling as it’s quite colourful and informative. Considering that this is quite a low wattage PSU there are quite a lot of cables and connectors supplied with it. This makes it ideal for a low power gaming rig which doesn’t have too many power draining graphics cards installed.
