OCZ Agility 2 60GB review
Is the OCZ Agility 2 the low-capacity, low-cost Sandforce SSD of choice? There's only one way to find out...Anyone who wants the best performance from their PC will know the advantages of using a high speed solid state drive for system files and important applications. The question is, which one? There are a lot of SSDs around with wildly varying prices and performance. OCZ alone has eight different product lines in a range of sizes from 32GB to 400GB. It gets a little confusing.There's the Onyx, the Vertex, the Vertex 2, the Vertex LE, the Vertex 2 LE, the Vertex EX, the Vertex 2 EX, the Vertex 2 Pro and, finally, the drive we're looking at today, the Agility 2.OCZ classifies the Agility 2 as its second tier range behind the Vertex 2. As one of the very few drives which use the new and much anticipated Sandforce SF-1200 controller, though, it's a class above most existing SSDs available.There are a load of technical advantages to the new controller but the key one is that it supports the TRIM feature in Windows 7 and Linux kernels from 2.6.33 on, which streamlines the Agility 2's ability to write data over other drives which use an older architecture.
OCZ Agility 2 60GB Solid State Drive Review
Today we have another SandForce-based solid state drive one the testing block. These new SandForce drives have been flooding the market lately and are bringing incredible speeds with them. Today we will be looking at the 60GB Agility 2 from OCZ; we actually took a look at the original Agility back in October. This 60GB version is part of the extended series which reduces the over provisioning of flash on the drive for more storage capacity. The 60GB size is perfect for anyone looking to get into a solid state drive without dropping a ton of money. Let’s take a look… The Agility 2 comes in OCZ’s typical solid state drive packaging, which we have become very accustomed to. On the front there is a picture of the drive along with the capacity listing. On the back there is a little bit of information about the drive and a list of specifications. Opening the package up the drive is nicely protected inside. Along with the drive inside you will find a mounting bracket, mounting hardware, user’s guide and a cool sticker that says, “My SSD is faster than your HDD”. I really like that OCZ does include the mounting bracket as many cases still do not have mounting systems for 2.5-inch drives.

Screaming every obsenity in the world wont bring your data back if your hard drive dies. Good news! if your data is stored on a SSD your chances of data loss decrease exponentially. OCZ is a serious contender in the memory market, it comes as no surprise they have a full line of SSD drives as well. “Based on a cutting-edge new architecture, Agility 2 Solid State Drives deliver unprecedented performance while maintaining an affordable storage solution for early adopters looking to update their systems with the latest technology.” Solid state drives not only offer an enormous reliability advantage over traditional hard disk drives, they offer great performance increases as well. Most people operate under the assumption it takes great money to get great performance. The Agility 2 claims to be the exception. Let's see if the Agility 2 has the moves to keep up with its boasts. OCZ definately crammed everything in this package quite efficiently looking at the size of the box I was surprised to see anything other than the SSD, they also included the screws and a 3.5\" mounting bracket. these may seem like trivial features but keep in mind this is a “budget friendly” SSD, usually included accessories are the first place a company might try to decrease cost.
