A top-down approach to cooling Noctua has wowed us before with its coolers: Both the NH-U12P and NH-D14 impressed us with top-tier performance. The NH-C14, which features a perpendicular cooling-fin stack and two fans, is larger than the former but smaller than the 2 pounds, 12 ounces of the latter. The NH-C14’s six heat pipes go into a stack of heating fins oriented perpendicularly to the motherboard, like a normal skyscraper stack turned 90 degrees; 14cm Noctua fans in their trademark peach-and-brown are clipped to each side of the stack, for a push-pull configuration that brings air straight down onto the motherboard.
