Kingston DataTraveler Locker+ G2 USB Drive Review
Everyone has owned or at least used a flash drive at some point. Whether you call it a thumb drive, jump drive, or disk on key it has the same basic function: storing files to access them from another place. There is no need for an internet connection to get your files, and if you are in school or have a job you've been reaping the benefits for a while. However, sometimes you might have some files you don't want everyone to see. Whether it's the Christmas gift list you are hiding from the wife or your My Little Pony videos you secretly watch at night, there's a new generation product released just for you. The Kingston DataTraveler Locker+ G2 allows you and you only (provided you don't share your password) to gain access to the drive. So if you are worried your buddy at work is trying to steal your design, lock it up tightly on the Locker+ G2, and you can be sure you have the only copy of that design to present to your boss. The Kingston DataTraveler Locker+ G2 was released just a few weeks ago on July 10th.

The Kingston DataTraveler Locker+ G2 is Kingston's update to last year's Kingston DataTraveler Locker+ (8GB) , which won an Editors' Choice for its simple security and affordable price. The new DataTraveler Locker+ G2 offers the same professional-grade encryption in a consumer USB flash drive, giving you the peace of mind that comes from knowing your digital data is safe from prying eyes. Add in seamless Windows and Mac cross-compatibility and a new metal clad design, and the Kingston DataTraveler Locker+ G2 is an easy pick as Editors' Choice for encrypted USB drives. The DataTraveler Locker+ G2 updates the look of the previous Locker+ drive, using a metal enclosure with protective cap instead of the capless swivel design seen on the previous iteration. The metal has a matte finish, and adds some weight to the drive. Measuring 0.38 by 0.73 by 2.28 inches (HWD), the Locker+ G2 weighs 0.8 ounce, which is a little heavier than most USB key drives. While the previous design prevented the loss of a cap by not including one, this design - with a removable cap and metal-clad exterior - certainly looks and feels more sophisticated.

The Kingston DataTraveler Locker+ puts government grade encryption onto a flash drive for the masses, with 256 AES hardware based encryption for an extremely reasonable price ($14 street, 8GB). Also available in capacities of 4GB (price), 16GB (price) and 32GB (price), the drive offers strong encryption for personal and business use that is no more inconvenient than entering a password. The Kingston DataTraveler Locker+ (8GB) features a capless swivel design, with a metal cover that slides into place to protect the USB connector from dirt and pocket lint without the hassle of an easily misplaced cap. Measuring 0.5 by 4.2 by 5.5 inches (HWD), the drive is no larger than a pack of Wrigley's Gum, and weighs a mere 1.3 ounces. The DataTraveler Locker+ (8GB) uses two-zone encryption, allowing you to set up public and encrypted portions on the drive, allowing hassle free file access while still protecting your most sensitive data. The password set-up is simple, and protects all data from unauthorized access, with the drive automatically reformatting after 10 invalid password attempts.
