Wester Digital Caviar Black 500 GB vs. Intel X25-M G2 160 GB SSD booting Windows 7. The reason my PC boots faster through the BIOS post is, that I switched my IDE DVD drive out with a SATA DVD drive, and turned IDE completely off in BIOS. Other than that, the system is equal in both video clips used.

(Part 2 of 2) Today I tested and installed my brand new Intel X25-M Generation 2 - Postville - (SSDSA2MH080G2C1) ssd. This video shows how fast Windows 7 x64 installs and how it reacts. It's a first video, so do not expect many applications to come by. On gathering.tweakers.net you can read about the former tests (CrystalDiskMark under Windows XP) and lot's of pictures. Hi everyone! Thought I'd craft up some SSD-oriented videos since everyone seems to be doing the same. These drives are made of pure legendary awesomeness! This second video is a comparison of a duplicate (cloned) install of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and testing just how long the typically lengthy boot process takes to occur between an Intel X-25M Solid State Drive and a performance oriented Western Digital Velociraptor 150 GB drive at 10000 RPM. Before I get tons of questions: CPU Specs: Dell XPS 410 CPU: Intel Quad Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz (stock speeds) RAM: DDR2 4GB @ 667mhz Graphics: EVGA Geforce 9800GTX+ HDDs: Intel X-25M 160 GB SSD Western Digital Velociraptor 150 GB (10000 RPM) (other drives for media and photos of course)

In this video I discuss some of the mods I did on the Skull Crusher, along with the cable mgmt. I also show some of the temps and 3D Mark Vantage scores. This was a real exciting build and was sad to see it leave, but I am very confident that the client will have many years of enjoyment.

Hi everyone! Thought I'd craft up some SSD-oriented videos since everyone seems to be doing the same. These drives are made of pure legendary awesomeness! This last lengthy video showcases the test being executed from the Windows splash screen until all programs either hang or finish loading. Forgive me as I know my stopwatch on the phone kept dimming - I had only thought about changing it to an "always-on" mode after these clips were shot. The time may not be perfect but it's synched up as close as I can to compare... Also you can note a dim part or two once the Raptor is by itself and read the timer going. I have not doctored the results - merely sped up the later half of the video as I had to create the entire clip within Youtube's 10 minute limit and the Raptor takes longer than that to load everything. Before I get tons of questions: CPU Specs: Dell XPS 410 CPU: Intel Quad Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz (stock speeds) RAM: DDR2 4GB @ 667mhz Graphics: EVGA Geforce 9800GTX+ HDDs: Intel X-25M 160 GB SSD Western Digital Velociraptor 150 GB (10000 RPM) (other drives for media and photos of course)
