We have collected 1 reviews of the Intel Core i7 940. Experts rate Intel Core i7 940 8/10. Reviewsor.com helps you find reviews, best prices, user reviews of the Intel Core i7 940 and Intel Processors.
The Intel Core i7 940 is a step up from the i7 920. With a clock at 2.93 GHz, it is 3% faster. This puts it on a par with the Core i7 870 on the LGA 1156 platform. Which to go for? We lean towards the i7 870 (or the 860 which is a better deal) because it uses less power. Power consumption is the real problem with the Core i7 900 series, even when they're at idle. For the rest, they retain the other high-end Intel technologies: Hyper-threading to better share load across the four cores with the creation of four virtual cores and Turbo mode to increase the clock when not all cores are in use. For a more thorough analysis, we point you towards the test for the Core i7 920.
