My computer was being bogged down due to Huge Fleet Battles, causing my Fraps to record at 5 FPS. But in all, the result of the video came out great. I am sorry for the clicky sound towards the end. Im commanding the French while my Opponent, timevaluevideo Commands the Austrians settings are: ship detail = ultra, water detail = ultra, particle effects = high This was a 1v1 Naval on the map Trafalgar. The rules were simple: 1 ship per player and it couldn't be a rocket ship. I was using a 122 gun ship and my opponent was using an ironclad. Basically its like a super sized steamship with 80 guns and a reinforced iron hull. It can be VERY hard to take down because it has the strongest hull of any ship in the game. It also is a steamship so it can go very fast against the wind. I managed to win this one because my opponent wasn't able to out maneuver my cannons and my superior fire power sent him to the bottom of the ocean.

I just watched Barack Obama's latest campaign ad. It's him, talking straight to the camera, mainly about the economy, for two minutes. Compelling and reasonable, he says nothing we haven't heard him say before, while looking and sounding, 'presidential'. In a normal year the ad may have been criticized or ignored because of its' lack of pizzazz, but to me it is thrilling, and I suspect that it will work extremely well, especially among that most eagerly sought after group; the undecideds. There is a consistent story out of the Obama campaign. It goes like this: an attack is launched by one of his opponents. The attack appears to be working. Poll numbers change. A gap widens, or narrows. Dismay starts to surface as the candidate and his closest advisors don't seem to be doing anything. Eventually, there is a meeting, or a conference call. Suggestions of how to respond come in thick and fast. Voices clamor to be heard. Then, through the noise comes this directive, "Okay, let's everybody just calm down. Here's what we're going to do." The conversation quickly goes from clamorous to orderly, from strident to strategic, and the campaign moves forward. Since Iowa, remember Iowa!?, this has been happening. Yet it seems that with each new punch thrown by the opposition, his most avid supporters, especially those on the chattering Left who supposedly know better, seem to forget... that Barack Obama is GOOD AT THIS. 3 base shock strategy Another possibility is what I call the "3 base shock strategy", where you try to win Tol Barad in roughly 3-5 minutes. The idea here is to send around 5-10 people each to Warden and Slagworks right at the beginning. Usually these 3 bases will not be defended at first, as defenders will rush to fight you at Ironclad. Here the thing is, that when finally you take over Ironclad, you only have around 10-30 seconds left on taking over Warden and Slagworks, making it almost an instant win for the attackers. What happens here is that since attackers have an easier time defending and attacking bases, a smaller group of people can hold a huge amount of defenders at Ironclad, while a small group takes over the other bases. These bases will often go ignored, until either you fully take them over, or defenders lose Ironclad. The key thing here is timing, and rushing it straight from the start. You only get one shot at this strategy per game.
