The HP TouchSmart 610-1150y ($1,199.99 at Best Buy) is the quintessential touch-screen desktop: It has an innovative touch interface, great ergonomics, and it's speedy enough to keep up with a busy power user. With its great touch interface, and reclining screen, the 610-1150y remains as the pinnacle of touch-screen desktop computing, and really is the one to get if you're at all interested in seeing what you can do with touch on a PC. The exterior of the HP TouchSmart 610-1150y differs from the previous HP TouchSmart 610-1065qd ($1,789.99 list, 5 stars) in subtle, barely noticeable ways. Both are 23-inch all-in-one desktop PCs with touch screens, and both will tilt forward about five degrees and tilt back 60 degrees for a comfortable touch-screen experience. (That way, you can rest your hands on the screen's bezel, averting fatigue). Where they differ is mainly on the right-hand side. The HP 610-1065qd has a pair of HDMI-in ports, while the 610-1150y has none. You'll miss the HDMI ports if you have an external satellite/cable box, or if you are planning on using the 610-1150y as an external monitor when the internal Core i5-2300 processor eventually becomes too slow over time.
