You can only tease so long before it's time to put up or shut up, and after creating a bit of buzz over its glass-covered Envy 14 Spectre laptop with sneak peeks dating back to before CES, Hewlett-Packard has made its newest Ultrabook available to purchase online starting at $1,400. That's well above the sub-$1,000 price point Intel would...

All-purpose printers are a booming market, and you're spoilt for choice, so here's our pick of the best printers on the market right now. This week we got our hands on Nokia's first Windows handset, the Lumia 800, and in the camera world, we spend some time testing the new Canon S100 and the Pentax Q.We also enjoyed the Beats Audio equipped HP DV7-6103ea laptop, while the £99 Huawei Blaze Android phone left us less impressed.Read on for this week's top reviews on TechRadar…Nokia Lumia 800 reviewThe Nokia Lumia 800 shares its exterior styling with the previously substantially less hyped Nokia N9, a Meego-based smartphone, although the screen size is reduced from 3.9-inch to 3.7-inch to conform to the Windows Phone spec list. The CPU increases from the 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 to the 1.4GHz MSM8255 Snapdragon/Scorpion which certainly helps add snap to the Windows Phone Mango OS. One thing's for certain: this is the best Nokia sma...

HP showed off its refreshed range of consumer printers this week, and told TechRadar that the previous Envy had proven to be such a hit in the Apple store that it has gone the extra mile and created an exclusive version. The HP Envy 114 e-All-in-one black version has been reserved for Apple, and is expected to be a big seller."This will be one of big selling SKU's and it will be on a promotion so that it's cheaper when you buy it along with a Mac," an HP spokesperson told TechRadar. Big market"Apple now has an exclusive Envy on a European level, but obviously heavily focused on the big UK market," she added. The printer – which is made to slot neatly out of the way and not look too ugly – also features AirPrint, allowing direct printing from iPad, iPhone or iPod touch a...

The Lenovo G770 packs fantastic power and good graphical performance into a solid big-screen laptop which is great for the home. We'd recommend it to anyone looking for a desktop replacement, but movie buffs will be disappointed about the lack of a 1080p screen. The first thing that strikes you when opening the G770 is the fantastic build quality. There's an expanse of brushed metal, in which sits a generous isolation-style keyboard with well-cushioned keys. It took us a while to get used to the travel between the keys, but it was comfortable to use for long periods. Under the hood is a generous amount of power, and enough for anyone who's looking for a few years of good use. The processor is a Sandy Bridge Intel Core i7 2620M 2.7GHz, which is the same found in the MacBook Pro, which costs...

Things are moving fast in mobile gaming right now. For the traditional laptop to stay relevant in these tablet-filled times, it has to offer something special to offset the decreased mobility compared to its touchscreen foe. The easiest area to exploit is raw power, specifically graphics. Fruit Ninja is all well and good on an Apple iPad 2, but what if you want to play the latest DirectX 11 games on the go?Enter Toshiba's Satellite P775-113. Under the bonnet, an Nvidia GT 540M handles the pixel pushing, which spells playable frame rates in graphically demanding DX11 titles. It's the latest in a new breed of vaguely affordable gaming PCs making the most out of rapidly advancing mobile technology. And at this price point, things are starting to get crowded. Medion's Erazer X6811 has impressi...

If beauty were only screen deep, the Nokia E7 series would stand a good chance in a Miss Handset competition, even up against the likes of the iPhone 4, HTC Desire S and Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. This QWERTY keyboard phone boasts a four-inch capacitive touchscreen, AMOLED ClearBlack display and sleek brushed aluminium casing that feels great in the hand. It's just under 14mm thick, but fairly lightweight for its size and depth. A strong double-thumbed push to the tilt and slide mechanism will reveal the well-spaced, rubber-buttoned QWERTY pad. The hinge is a little stiff, but the solidity is appreciated. The weight is nicely balanced held portrait, landscape or with the keypad out, and the touchscreen isn't overpowered by unwieldy additional keys. The soft keys it does have are spare and n...

Wow, talk about dying out quick. Dell's XPS 14 has only been on sale for less than half a year, but already the company is confirming that it has been discontinued. Is it the end of the era? Or just the foreshadowing of a new beginning? It's hard to say what the death of HP's Envy 13 means for the category, but it's not hard to realize what it means for the here and now. The Envy 13 was one of a kind in the PC world. It was a direct reaction to the MacBook Air, but rather than just copying Apple, HP added...

While Toshiba's Satellite range comprises its consumer laptops, the Satellite R630-141 (£764 inc. VAT) takes its design entirely from Toshiba's corporate Portégé R700 line. Offering high-powered mobility, it is an absolutely fantastic choice for the frequent traveller. Weighing just 1.4kg, this 13.3-inch this laptop is one of the smallest and lightest machines in this category. The sleek chassis is eminently portable and easy to carry during the day, while the 398-minute battery life vastly beats its rivals here to keep you working for nearly seven hours. Finished in brushed magnesium alloy, the chassis combines black and gun-metal colour schemes that add an eye-catching yet understated look. The tough plastics prove suitably resilient to scratches and general damage, although we found ...

Sony's VAIO E-Series has been very popular of late, offering a range of high-quality yet affordable machines that are ideal for home use. The VAIO VPCEC3S0E/WI (£919 inc. VAT) is a big-screen model aimed at those seeking a stylish desktop replacement. Using a combination of white and silver plastics, the large chassis looks every bit the high-end home media centre and looks great in the home office or living room. With its huge 17.3-inch screen this is a laptop designed strictly for home use. The chassis is by far the largest in this group test and is not one that you'll want to carry far. At 3.1kg, it is a little lighter than we had expected, however, so you can work around the house in comfort. Of course, the benefit of such a large screen is the excellent multi-tasking and multimedia a...

Although HP primarily sells consumer laptops through its Pavilion range, its Envy line offers a high-end alternative for those with a bigger budget. Unfortunately, while the Envy 14 (£999 inc. VAT) is a stylish, powerful and compact machine, it is a little flawed by awkward usability. Initial impressions are good. The sleek chassis and textured, metallic finish create an elegant look that makes it arguably the best-looking laptop in this group test. Its smooth clamshell design is comfortable to hold and it slips smoothly into a carry case. At 2.6kg the chassis is not as light as the 13.3-inch Toshiba in this group, but is still suitably portable for use at home or on the move. While the 215-minute battery life is bettered by both the Asus and Toshiba here, you can work for nearly four hou...

Adding to Asus' comprehensive range of high-end laptops, the U53Jc (£899 inc. VAT) is a powerhouse portable with a twist. Finished with a bamboo exterior, it is one of the most uniquely designed machines you can buy, but proves to be far more than just a pretty face. Chosen for its environmental credentials, the use of bamboo on the lid and palm rest is notable for the strength and organic look that it lends this laptop. With a finish resembling mahogany, it creates a luxurious style of its own – albeit one that is likely to divide opinion. The remainder of the chassis' interior is finished in brushed aluminium, contrasting nicely with the bamboo veneer. As such, the black-plastic keyboard looks a little out of place, but it is a pleasure to type on, with its spacious design and firm ke...
