Gigabyte GTX 660 OC Version Review

The board is clocked at the same base and boost clock speeds as the MSI card, too, running at 1,033MHz and 1,098MHz, respectively. The cooler features four copper heat pipes, aluminum fins, and two large 10cm fans breathing down on the whole shebang. Even though the board sports a smallish 7.5-inch PCB, the cooling apparatus is so large that it's 2-inches longer than the PCB and extends the length of the card to 9.5 inches. With a cooler this large you expect it to perform quite well, and it does. It kept the card absolutely silent even when the board was being tortured in the Lab, and allowed it to run at a moderately cool 63 C under full load. The board's benchmark performance was good enough for it to edge out the MSI card in most tests, but by a margin that's insignificant. Since both cards are clocked the same and spec'd the same, this level of parity is not surprising. On the software front, the included OC Guru II app is easy to use for monitoring the card's vitals and overclocking, but the charts it provides showing change over time are hard to read due to teeny text. There's also a “bundle” in the box but we are putting it in quotes because it's so meager—a single Molex-to-PCIe adapter.

Gigabyte GTX 660 Ti Superclocked review

Gigabyte isn't particularly well known for its GPUs in the UK, and when you look at the OC version we have in our test bench right now you might think that's a bit of a shame. This seriously overclocked version of the GTX 660 Ti, with the impressive Gigabyte Windforce cooling array, is around the same price as both of the Zotac and EVGA GTX 660 Ti SC. Because of the tasty 1GHz+ base clock it posts some competitive benchmark numbers too, taking the GTX 660 Ti in isolation. The three top-spec GTX 660 cards here - the Asus GTX 660 Ti DirectCU II Top, Zotac GTX 660 Ti AMP! Edition and this Gigabyte card - all trade blows in different tests, and that's possibly down to variance in testing as well as the different coolers on offer. It's also a little more svelte than the Asus card, though not as ickle as the impressively mini Zotac offering. With both this and the Zotac AMP! edition hitting relatively high clock speeds the overweight Asus card is looking more and more off the pace. But we're in almost exactly the same place as we are with the Zotac AMP! edition. It's a very good example of the GTX 660 Ti, but not necessarily a good example of a graphics card.

GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 660 Ti Windforce OC

GIGABYTE has made a name for themselves with very overclockable motherboards and their extremely highly clockable “Super overclock” graphics card offerings. Coming from this same brand, we have their overclock offering for the GTX 660 Ti. GIGABYTE has a long list of performance offerings ranging from the entry level business system products all the way up to insanely overclocker-centric models such as their SOC cards and OC branded boards. Today we have the newest offering stemming from the new GTX 660 Ti chipset. This is GIGABYTE's overclocked variant it has a performance boost out of the box. The card comes equipped with a Windforce cooler, and like all other 660 Ti models, supports up to 3 way SLI. This card has the exact same GPU as the GTX 690, 680, and 670, so you can bet this will be one hell of a performer. GIGABYTE is no stranger to performance 6-series parts as we reviewed a Windforce GTX 670 in the past, and we can say with utmost certainty that it has not only a nice cooler with the Windforce design but also a nice overclock, and great performance. The GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 660 Ti Windforce OC has alot going for it and looks like a damn nice card.
