Priced at US $408 Fujitsu Technology Solutions' M2010 netbook is priced competitively against models from other vendors, including Lenovo's IdeaPad S10-2 (also reviewed on ITP.net). In terms of specifications the M2010 boasts identical components to Lenovo's IdeaPad; it has a 1.6GHz Atom CPU which is HyperThreading enabled, sports 1GB of memory and uses Intel's 945GSE chipset. There's also a 10.1-inch LCD and 160GB of hard disk space. However when we unleashed our PCMark 2005 benchmark on the M2010, it became obvious that Fujitsu fine-tuned its machine for performance. The M2010 returned CPU, memory and hard drive scores of 1549, 2471 and 4517. With the exception of the hard drive score - which trails the Lenovo by a slim margin - the CPU and memory scores are higher than every other netbook we've tested to date. Even with regards to booting and shutdown the M2010 returned impressive times as it took 39- and 14-seconds to do these deeds whereas Lenovo's machine took longer at 51- and 42-seconds.
