Product Survey: USB Keys

This drive is cousin to the Survivor GT 8 GB. It has the same imposing, all-terrain design (see inset) as the previous model, but its capacity has been quadrupled to 32 GB. Also, the "GT" suffix is absent, which would imply that the performance of this 32 GB offering will lack when compared to the 8 GB GT version. The Survivor's competitor is the OCZ Rally 2 32 GB. And where speed is concerned, the Rally 2 is the winner. The Corsair's write speed topped out at 12.5 MB/s, compared to 13.8 MB/s for its opponent. Filling up the keys with four 8 GB movies took 43 minutes with the Survivor and 39 minutes with the Rally 2. The rankings are the same for read speeds, with 21.1 MB/s for the Corsair and 25.7 MB/s for the Rally. But those are still good results, and they put this drive right at the average.
