Corsair Special Edition White Graphite 600T Review

We’ve already reviewed Corsair’s 600T once. We loved the case, but bemoaned the lack of side air intakes. The Special Edition White 600T is virtually the same as the regular edition, with a new paint job and one major tweak: the addition of a side-panel cutout that can be fitted with either an acrylic window or a mesh screen with fan mounts. At 20 inches tall by 10.4 inches wide by 22.7 inches deep, the 600T is not a small case, but once the steel side panels are removed you’re greeted with a vastness that seems bigger inside than out. The Special Edition 600T’s steel frame is painted matte black, but the whole case is covered with a curved, white plastic shell—in direct contrast to the sharp right-angle edges of the Obsidian 650D. Inside, this 600T is virtually identical to the previous model. The front panel and top exhaust areas of the 600T are covered with black mesh—the panels housing the top and front 20cm fans can be lightly pressed to flip open or removed altogether for cleaning. The six flex-til-they-fit hard drive trays and four toolless optical drive bays didn’t impede our build in the slightest—we were able to fit a 12.2-inch GPU as easily as a standard-size one without having to remove either of the drive bays.

Corsair Special Edition White Graphite 600T Chassis Review

Hot on the heels of its Techgage Editor's Choice awarded Obsidian 650D, comes another case from Corsair. This time around we look at a special edition white version of the previously released Graphite 600T mid-tower. This refresh features a different paint job along with other styling and performance changes, the latter of which came about thanks to Corsair's listening to its customers. Seeing how the original 600T was not reviewed on our site, I couldn't wait to dive in and see what made it so popular and check out any improvements. Wrapped in a white cloth bag and made of steel with plastic accents that wrap around the entire frame, the white Graphite 600T is just that; white. A re-launch of the original 600T, it supports micro-ATX and ATX motherboards. This time around the two 200mm fans have been upgraded to run at 1000RPM instead of 600. From what I have read on various forums, this was the major complaint from users, so it's nice to see a company listening to what its customers have to say. Ok maestro. From the top! Well, the front really, which is made almost entirely of a metal mesh surrounded by plastic accents. At the top of the mesh area are four 5.25" drive bays.

Corsair 600T White Special Edition review

Corsair has a good thing going with its current range of cases. The cavernous Obsidian chassis are perfect abodes for your dream build, offering not just space but fantastic airflow, build quality and design. However, the price tags won't sit comfortably with thriftier gear-heads. The Graphite series cases are by no means cheap, but their fantastic design and more affordable pricing offers great value. When putting together a new machine, a case is often one of the areas people see as an opportunity to save money, along with optical drives and storage, to free up cash for CPU/GPU/RAM. After all, what can a £130 chassis do that a £50 one can't? Often it's more a case of what it doesn't do, rather than any special features it sports. If a case doesn't cook your components, cut your hands open, make a lot of noise, and require a lot of fiddling to build a system inside, it's a good case. You can give it a well-earned pat on the front panel. If, like the 600T Special Edition White chassis, it allows you to neatly tuck away the morass of cables spewing from your PSU, gives you a bit of elbow room for building, keeps everything cooler than room temperature at the Helsinki ghost convention, and maintains a beautiful and discrete aesthetic, it's a great case.

Corsair graphite 600t computer case review

Corsair has always been a major player in the computer memory arena, producing award winning memory products for casual users and maximum-effort performance users alike. Not content to rest on their laurels, Corsair branched out into the power supply market with some of the finest PSUs on the market. The next logical step was to enter the cooler and chassis market, which Corsair did with similar results. Their Obsidian series of full-tower cases hit the market to rave reviews for their innovative design elements and cooling performance. Earlier this year Corsair made another aggressive foray into the chassis market with the 600T from their Graphite series, which Corsair touts as a mid-tower case on the outside with full-tower features on the inside, allowing the PC enthusiast to build a full-featured performance gaming system in a smaller, more manageable package. The 600T also has a sleeker, more rounded profile giving it a distinctive look. Follow along as we take a closer look at the 600T, put it through its paces and see what Corsair has done with the mid-tower form factor.

Corsair Graphite Series 600T Review

With so many cases on the market, the pickings can be daunting. What it all boils down to though, is what you are specifically looking for in a case. A case should be able to fulfill whatever need(s) you have. Great features like places to route cabling and tool-less solutions are just some of the many things to look for when considering a case. A case should be just as much form as it is function. A case serves to protect your components and it does this in two ways. 1) Keeping them dust free and 2) keeping them cool. When it comes to overclocking, decent cooling is a must and depending on what options you are considering, your case may hold you back. Perhaps you are considering using water cooling or even a large heatsink fitted with two 120mm fans. A case could hold you back on either of these options if it isn't capable of even fitting such a heatsink or even mounting a radiator. Today we have the Corsair Graphite Series 600T. You may be familliar with Corsair's other cases which consists of the 700T and 800T. The 600T packs quite a few options for any eager enthusiast. It can mount a dual 120mm radiator on the top panel.
