This is not a fresh install of windows as you can see. I used Acronis to clone the drives there are no tweaks done to the OS or anything. Mother board is rampage 2 extreme. If you have vertex drives I don't think it is necessary to upgrade as there is not that much of a difference in performance. I only upgraded because I sold one of my other drives.

CPU and GPU are at stock, Recorded with Fraps, without recording i usually get around 66-70fps average. Yes i know my fps are a bit lower than the other 5870s thank usual, ever since i tried AsusDoctor to volt mod/overclock(uninstalled it after a few benchmarks) my card lowered in performance on all the games i tried. If you guys know what i might have done wrong please leave a comment down below. Sorry for the lag in the video, trying different settings. Side by side test of a few simple things between a solid state drive and a standard 5400rpm hard drive. Both are 13.3" macbook pro unibody. The SSD is the 60gb corsair force F60. Both laptops got a fresh install of snow leopard before this video was recorded and the SSD is brand new, never used before this video.

13.3" MacBook Pro. I can't live without notepad++ for my programming (I've tried all the alternative and none hold a candle to notepad++) so I decided to give parallels a shot. I used bootcamp on my last macbook to install windows 7 ultimate but it didn't run very well. (could've been because the last one i had only had 2gb of ram) this time I ran windows 7 home premium 32 bit (mostly chose it for its smaller size, i don't need the feature ultimate offers) and it ran extremely well. In fact, it runs it virtualized better than my 2009 macbook pro did as the live os via bootcamp install. Plus it's a quick little hands-on demo of coherence mode where you can run windows applications as if they were being run in OS X. it's neat. oh and the ssd is the Corsair F60 60gb model. sandforce controller. cost me $150. best upgrade i've ever done to a laptop hands down. oh and at the beginning in windows, that paramore music video was streaming over my network from my linux server. using bridged mode in parallels, the virtual machine gets its own IP on the actual network and has full network access. that's impressive stuff.
