Coolermaster GX 750W
Not too long ago, I looked at the Coolermaster GX series 750W power supply. You will recall that there was a lot of facepalming going on in that review due to a number of reasons, most notably the unit's failure to keep ripple in check on the 3.3 volt output. You will also remember that I mentioned a pledge by Coolermaster to send out a replacement sample for that unit, which as it turned out was not a retail sample but a preproduction unit. This replacement did not arrive in time for that review, but as you can see by the picture above it has finally arrived. I believe that it is only fair that I take another look at this unit to see if the retail models address the various issues I found. So, I'm going to give this unit the full jonnyGURU.com treatment to see how it does. That said, this is still a second sample. Should it fail, that's all she wrote. No more chances for this unit. The box is exactly the same as what we saw last time. Here's the marketing mumbo jumbo once again: Like I said, nothing about the box has changed, and... wait a second, I didn't notice that before. Let me zoom in real close here on that spec table. Do you see what I see?
