ASRock Vision 3D HTPC Exclusive Hands-on in Taipei

5.24 min.

www.tweaktown.com In our first batch of pre-Computex Taipei 2010 coverage this week, we visited ASRock who had some pretty cool new stuff on display that it will show at the big Asian IT show next week. First up we got a look at the ASRock Vision 3D HTPC, a brand new home theater computer from ASRock. In the past we have tested very impressive nettops from ASRock based on Intel's Atom processor and NVIDIA Ion technology. This new HD nettop as we may have just coined, comes with a desktop class motherboard chipset as well as super high-end Intel Core mobile processor. It's clearly designed to be more than just a basic nettop system with four USB 3.0 ports, HDMI 1.4 port, dual-link DVI, 7.1 audio and even bitstreaming support for DTS-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD via its included slot loading Blu-ray ROM optical drive. It also features a new and improved solid and stylish looking aluminimum design and is around the same length as the previous nettops from ASRock, although it sits a little taller. ASRock P67 Extreme6 Motherboard Hands-on

9.9 min.

www.tweaktown.com Earlier on today we visited the ASRock headquarters here in Taipei and Chris Lee, Marketing Manager, was on hand to give us a full hands-on video look at their upcoming P67 Socket LGA-1155 Sandy Bridge Extreme6 motherboard. Due to NDA restrictions, we are kind of limited by exactly what we can say and show, but in the video above, you still get a good look at what is on offer. One of the tricks that ASRock has up their sleeves is to do with USB performance. Using the included ASRock XFast USB technology, they claim performance improvements of up to 100% when "turbo mode" is enabled in the small application which pops up whenever a USB device is attached to the motherboard. Over Clocking AMD ATHLON X2 240 2.8 Ghz CPU

1.54 min.

Showing you how pathedically simple it is to get a 3.8 GHZ processor just by purchasing the cheapest 2.8 Ghz CPU version. It runs 100% stable & will not burn out. This software is 100% safe because it has a built in RESET mechanism so if the OC fails it automatically resets on next reboot. This CPU also automatically reboots upon overheating or error. This ASrock MB has gotta be the cheapest most cost effective board around I swear. Pound for pound the best in it's $$$ class. A dual core 3.8Ghz system for under $200 bucks. Can't beat that. I've received numerous e-mails asking about my setup. Here it is. Hardware: AS-ROCK ns motherboard x2 240 cpu Arctic Freezer Cpu Cooler 800 Mhz RAM - Higher the MHZ the better, I went cheapo. 5 SATA hard drives + USB drives Radeon Video This is real & I run Crysis with it as well as many other games at full 100% load so don't make stupid comments about it because you will only shame yourself in front of those that got even higher ghz. I seen 4.0 ghz verified on z-cpu. note: Lower HyperTransport & NB to lowest setting for maximum OC using this software.
